About JEDI: Action Plan: Communications

    Strategic Direction: To communicate economic development information, increase public awareness and program visibility and to increase visibility and awareness amongst JEDI's key partners, as well as internal and external players.

Activities

    1) Publish bi-monthly articles on successful Aboriginal businesses (C)

      Objective:

      • to promote and celebrate accomplishments of Aboriginal entrepreneurs within Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal audience
      • to increase JEDIs visibility

    2) Maintenance of JEDI website (C, Management)

      Objective:

      • to ensure access to current and relevant information
      • to provide central link for all JEDI partners

    3) Maintenance of electronic distribution network of partners/people/organizations working in the area of Aboriginal economic development (C, Management)

      Objective:

      • to distribute JEDI updates and JEDI fast facts
      • to ensure continued presence of JEDI
      • to ensure effective communication amongst JEDI participants

    4) Explore promotional opportunities with other organizations and publications (C, Management)

      Objective:

      • to increase JEDI profile through publication of information through external venues via internal or external newsletters

    5) Publication of JEDI newsletter - 5 issues per year (Management)

      Objective:

      • to keep the JEDI partners and interested parties informed of JEDIs activities
      • to share information on best practices, economic and employment opportunities, and upcoming events

    6) Assist in the development of a video to promote training, education, and career opportunities to Aboriginal students (C, EP)

      Objective:

      • to provide direction to Employment Placement Committee in the project management of video series

    7) Provide communication lead in special events such as funding announcements, program launches, official openings and celebrations (C, Management)

      Objective:

      • to ensure media awareness and participation
      • to profile JEDI activities and partners
      • to promote Aboriginal specific events

    8) Provide support in the development of promotional activities and material to be used at conferences, trade shows, and other events (C, Management)

      Objective:

      • to ensure consistent message
      • to support JEDI team with promotional activities
