About JEDI: Action Plan:
Management Coordination & Administration

    Strategic Direction: To support and facilitate the development of activities which will increase economic development opportunities for NB Aboriginal people through the management, administration and participation in the JEDI process.   

Activities

    1) Development of a comprehensive JEDI action plan (Management)

      Objective:

      • to determine the strategic direction of JEDI for a two-year period
      • to identify activities to support the strategic direction
      • to identify measurable outcomes

    2) Management of the administrative and logistical support to JEDI Plenary and sub-committee Co-chairs (Management)

      Objective:

      • to support the JEDI Plenary and sub-committees through the coordination of the logistical, administrative and secretarial activities
      • to ensure consistency and credibility through regular scheduled meetings, record keeping, notification and preparation of supporting documentation

    3) Coordination of JEDI Co-chair and sub-committee Co-chair briefings (Management)

      Objective:

      • to ensure JEDI Co-chairs are cognizant of the key issues that relate directly or indirectly to JEDIs mandate

    4) Management of the JEDI communication network (Management)

      Objective:

      • to ensure the JEDI partners, members and interested parties are kept informed of the issues, concerns, and activities of JEDI
      • to ensure an effective flow of communication through the maintenance of the various communication tools used in the distribution of information

    5) Coordination and facilitation of individual sub-committee action/work plans (Management)

      Objective:

      • to determine the strategic direction of JEDI sub-committees
      • to identify activities to support JEDI sub-committee strategic directions
      • to support JEDIs comprehensive action plan and mandate

    6) Management of JEDIs operational and travel budgets (Management)

      Objective:

      • to provide financial support for the operational management of JEDI
      • to facilitate participation of Aboriginal community
      • to ensure timely reimbursement of expenses

    7) Ensure active participation of the key stakeholders (Plenary, PJVC, CED, EP, C, CA, RS, Management)

      Objective:

      • to ensure effective Aboriginal representation i.e. leadership, Aboriginal organizations and Community Economic Development Officers, and Human Resource Officers
      • to ensure effective representation of federal and provincial governments
      • to identify opportunities for strategic participation of additional parties i.e. private sector, national organizations etc.
      • to advocate government departments to assume a greater leadership role in the management of JEDI sub-committees
